Board of Trustees Meeting
November 8th, 2010

Attendance: Trustees- Ron Haggett, Molly Moore Lazar, Margaret Warner
Director- Kathryn Chisholm      

The agenda for tonight’s meeting was approved as presented.

Minutes of September 13th, 2010 and October 18, 2010 were approved.

Treasurer’s Report:
Ron Haggett gave the Treasurer’s report for October.

Library Director’s Report:

We are continuing to explore a new integrated library system and are looking at the Alexandria System at the Bennington Library.

The Library will be participating in National Gaming Day on Saturday, November 13th.

The men from Valley Street are working to winterize the Library the week of November 8th.

Information Items:

Friends of the Library are doing the dollhouse raffle in December.

Area Trustees meeting – Friday, November 13 at James A. Tuttle Library

Capital Improvement update - as of the October 26th CIP meeting, Library requests included rewiring of older building, the purchase of software and hardware upgrade, and maintenance items which includes security cameras, a railing for the portico, and roof repairs. A request has been made to the CIP Committee to establish a Capital Reserve Account for the Library in the sum of $53,000.00 for 2011-2016.

Festival of Trees – There are over seventy entries. A floor plan has been developed.

Memorial garden - Lynne Lawrence, a master gardener, has come up with a tentative plan for the Memorial Garden.

Old Business:

2011 budget- The 2011 proposed budget has been presented and we are awaiting input from the Select board.

Evaluation schedule revision- There was discussion of the staff evaluation schedule. Margie will write it up as a revision to the personnel policy and send it out to the board.

New Business:

Approval of Computer Support Contract- will be moved to the December meeting for old business.

2011 holiday calendar- A proposed holiday schedule for 2011 was discussed and approved.

Energy audit- We are exploring energy efficiency in the Library building.

Revision of staff evaluation forms-will be moved to December’s meeting for discussion.

The Trustees approved buying Christmas gifts for the staff.
